A Fully Itemised Estimate
We will send a fully itemised estimate before the funeral service with details of two items; “Our Charges” and the “Disbursements”. Disbursements are payments that we make on behalf of the family to necessary third parties, such as crematoria, cemetery, Doctors, Minister, newspapers, florist etc. We will also explain these cost to you during the funeral arrangement meeting. Once you receive our estimate please let us know if you wish to make any changes to the arrangements as soon as possible.
The final invoice will be sent to you shortly after the funeral. If you are passing the account to a solicitor please let us know as soon as possible, if you are dealing with the estate yourself, you may present the invoice to the deceased’s bank or building society for payment directly from their account.
If you are finding it difficult to pay for the funeral you may be able to get assistance from the Benefits Agency. To qualify the next of kin must be in receipt of one of the qualifying benefits. These are Income Support, Housing Benefit, Council Tax Benefit, Job Seekers Allowance (income based), Disabled Person’s Tax Credit, Working Family’s Tax Credit. Please contact your local Department of Work and Pensions for more information.
